Habakkuk - Serving God Through Anything
Tuesday, February 13th, 2007Well, lately I have been reading a few of the OT books, Habakkuk is my latest one I finished this morning and I thought it had some good lessons. For those of you that don’t know the setting Habakkuk is I believe a minor profit who lived in a time where God was sending the wicked Babylonians to attack His people. Habakkuk struggeled with how God was sending a wicked people to destroy His people (even though they were also acting wicked, they weren’t as bad as the Babylonians).
What struck me this morning was Habakkuk’s ending prayer, he basically shows that he doesn’t praise and honor God for what he does and gives him, but rather Habakkuk praises and honors him because He is God! So basically it’s an example of how no matter what situation, no matter what we experience we need to show the faith to love God through it even if there doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Be encouraged today to praise and honor God not for what He gives you, but because He is God!
