Redefining the base

Friday, August 15th, 2008

This week has been a week for me to redefine what matters in my heart. I sat in church last Sunday and God told me I need to meet with him for 1 hour each morning. There was a bit more to it than that but it’s interesting that when we listen, how God will speak!

I can say that I’ve done a pretty good job. I’ve been going to bed 1 hour earlier and have been able to get in 1 hour each day (one day was split 30 min in the morning and 30 at night). But I’m amazed at how much priority I haven’t put on God. I mean, watching an hour of TV or playing a video game for an hour is easy. I do it all the time, goodness I’m working 60+ hours a week and don’t think twice, then when I spend time with God I’m constantly wondering why He isn’t making the changes I know he wants in my life, marriage and family. Then it hits me…dummy…if you want changes, change your priorities and not just in speech!

So my encouragement to you is to make sure that you give God as much time as you would like Him to give you in working on your life! I can tell you and many others can that when we make God a priority He will do the same to us!
