Are You Limiting God?

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Too often I find that I don’t have enough faith to see how powerful God is. I seem to think that He can only do what I think, and work in areas I expect. Lately we have been reminded that Christ isn’t limited by the boundaries we think in. He doesn’t stop on the shore like the water and can not go further inland. He has all power and all authority to move in ways we don’t even consider.

Recently my wife and I have experienced this, we have been praying for something for over a year now and honestly I don’t know if we really expected God to do anything about it but we felt like we should pray. Well, God is starting to work and our first reaction (or at least mine) was surprise. I feel ashamed at that reaction! This is something I have been praying for and when God starts to answer what I’ve been asking for I’m…”suprized”? Wow, my faith isn’t where it needs to be! I’m learning that today, and am humbled at my own shortcomings! Praise God for wisdom and insight and the ability to grow!
My encouragement to you is to pray with expectancy that God is able and will answer your prayers, pray for the non-believer and their soul, pray for the ones you don’t even think have a chance for coming to Christ because it isn’t what we think that matters, it is what He thinks, and the Bible tells us over and over that He came to earth to save the people that we wouldn’t dream could come to Him. Pray with expectancy!
