Remember lest you forget…
Monday, April 20th, 2009This past Sunday was a sermon based out of 1 Peter chapter 2. It went over many things but the one I wanted to write about most was about how special our access to God is. How in the OT there was only 1 priest who could enter the most holy of holy’s and it was only once a year with sacrificial blood. Yet after Christ’s death we have that access…
Be reminded today how special your relationship to God is, you have the same access right now, this very day that was extremely rare in the OT and that most would have desired above all else! How soon I forget the special relationship to our creator I have and I let other things get in the way…just last night I spent 6 hours working until 2AM and didn’t get up to do my Bible study because of this…what a waste, nothing I did last night for my work however wonderful it is for Intel will last, but time with my savior would have have lasted, would have blessed my family, my wife…I have robbed them of whatever Christ wanted to do in my heart and I pray for forgiveness and wisdom that even if I make a stupid decision like this that I will not let it dictate the time missed with my savior!
I pray that you all don’t make that same mistake, that you are encouraged to put Him first in your life. Never forget how special you are in His sight, that nothing of this world truly matters and that the only thing that will save you is Christs blood in your life! Ask yourself…is He what you want above all else? If not follow what 1 Peter 2:4 and go to the living stone, again, and again until He is the only thing worth living for! Let the things of this earth fall away and only focus on your savior and His work!
